The Royal Inn newly reopened pub, small meals are £8.50 and regular sized meals for £13-15. 3 min walk opposite Par Train Station.

Par Track Cafe 7-8 min walk, community run, very reasonable snacks, drinks and light meals.

The Welcome Home Inn Par Green. 12-15 min walk through park to get to Par Green, the road parallel to the beach. Nice pub food with a lovely beer garden behind. Generous portions £10-20

Snowy’s Diner 16min walk Go through park and under train bridge. Open Wed-Sun for breakfast and lunch.

The Par Inn 17 mins walk is a lively drinkers pub with no food (Camra ) which often has live music. On the Par Harbour Road. 15-20 min walk.

The New Inn 18 mins walk Turn left and cross over. Walk past track and take 1st left up to Tywardreath village then turn right along street to the pub. Gastro £13-20

The Ship Inn 24 mins walk Polmear (Par beach) Right at the entrance to Par Beach, it has a beer garden, play area and serves food from cheap snacks, kids menu to pub classics, £5-17

The Four Lords 25 mins walk St. Blazey, very old pub with good, reasonably priced food and lots of entertainment.

Par Beach Cafe 25 mins walk On Par Beach, half way along the dunes. Free car park so you don’t have to pay for beach parking.

Budget

The Carclaze is a budget pub on the dual carriageway leaving St. Austell, which serves 2 for £12 on lunchtime saver menu (including fish and chips) available 12-6pm. The service is a bit slow at peak times but the food is usually very good and a real bargain.

Niles Bakery has opened a very nice new premises with a big balcony overlooking St. Austell Bay. You can eat lunch, have coffee and, of course, buy bread and cakes whilst you are there. Their website doesn’t have the address of the new site, it is found on Google Maps at Niles Cafe and Bakery, Treverbyn, PL25 4EJ.

Mid Range

Below are a small selection of excellent mid range restaurants, all in beautiful locations, a little bit further away:

The Rashliegh in Polkerris, excellent food, mid range prices.

The Britannia Inn 16th century coach house next to Par market. Dogs are allowed in the bars which serve the same menu as the restaurant. The food here is always superb but a bit pricey £17-£27. The same applies to:

The Pier House in Charlestown (Dogs allowed in bar where there is a tasty bar menu) and

The Rashliegh Arms in Charlestown, really nice food, regular entertainment and singing.

Havener’s Fowey Seafood. Delicious, mid range prices

Sunny Spice Fowey Indian, mid range prices. Always good

The Lugger Inn Fowey – mid range varied menu- excellent reviews

Pintxo, Fowey Mediterranean, European, Spanish, Vegetarian friendly, Vegan options, Gluten free options. Really delicious Spanish Tapas bar.

Eating out with your dog is a simple affair as many local cafes, restaurants and pubs are very dog friendly.
